Hey FABs!
I had the pleasure of seeing Girls Trip this weekend and I enjoyed every second of the movie! If you haven't had the chance to see it yet, get your movie ticket now! Like seriously, here's the link: Fandango . This movie takes you on adventure of a lifetime when best friends Ryan, Sasha, Lisa and Dina travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. Along the way, they rekindle their sisterhood and rediscover their wild side by doing enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make you feel like you're there with them.
This movie brought back many memories from college, the best years of my life. It wasn't the best years of my life because of the fine boys or parties, it was because of the friendships that I built while I was at the peak of becoming an adult, a woman. We made up crew names, partied together, ate together, got dressed together, walked the "yard" together, shopped together but most importantly, we were always there for each other no matter what. Those interactions with my friends taught me more about life than any classroom could and for that, I will forever cherish them. They taught me what true sisterhood is- no judging, support, laughter, patience and most of all love.
Sometimes in life, we meet people and even it's for a short period of time, they have made an imprint on your heart. They have shaped you in some way that you will never see the world the way you once did. They're your soul mates. My college friends are that to me. As we grow older, have children, get married, life passes us on but the imprint that they have made on my heart remains.
To my VSU friends, thank you for shaping me into who I am today. If we ever all meet up for homecoming, it's going to be one EPIC weekend!
Later FABs!
