We could bring our dressing room home FABS! Amazon is testing a new service to Prime members that allows the buyers to try on their clothes before purchasing. Customers are allowed seven days to decide what clothing items they like and then only pay for what they keep. Clothing shipments will arrive in a re-sealable box with a pre-paid label for returns.
Big clothing brands such as Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss and Levi's will be included in this service. Additionally shoppers could receive discounts depending on how much they keep!
Could this be the beginning on a new online shopping era? For department stores, allowing the customers to try on their clothes in a dressing room before buying was a major advantage. Now that customers may have the potential to try on their online clothing picks before purchasing, it could unfortunately be a major financial blow to department stores such as Macy's and Walmart. However, for those time crunches when we need to find a quick outfit before an event, going to a department store or mall will still be the best way to go.
Here's how it works:
Shoppers pick three or more items and then have a seven day trial period to try on their selected items. The customers can drop off their unwanted items at a UPS location or schedule a free-pick up. Customers could also receive 10 % off if they keep their three or four items or 20% off for five items or more.
Are you going to try it FABS? I know I will! I'm already an Amazon Prime Member and I love it! It has great perks! I'll report back how the process went.
Later FABS!
