Makeup Review: NYX Super Cliquey Matte Lipstick and Slip Tease Lip Oil

Hey Fabs! It’s a couple days after the big American Solar Eclipse and…although I wouldn’t say it was an epic fail (because we weren’t in the direct path), it was pretty cool to see through those eclipse glasses that I borrowed from someone at work. Check in the box, that’s done. I can officially say I’ve witnessed a solar eclipse in my life. Now that’s over, I can move on with the real topic of discussion…makeup and skincare (yay!). Lately, I’ve been playing around with the new lip colors from NYX Cosmetics. I order a few of the Super Cliquey Matte Lipsticks ($8.99, Ulta.com) and a few of NYX Slip Tease Lip Oils ($6.99, ulta.com).

I tried the Super Cliquey Matte Lipsticks first. Because I love a good red lip, I tried the color “snarky” first. The nuance behind this lip color is that there is a button on the end that you click to get the color to come up. It took me quite a few clicks to get the color to come out at first but I got the hang of it after a while. The color finally began to emerge from the other end.

I like the raindrop shape of the application tip. It made it easy to apply the color precisely without “coloring outside the lines”. It works perfectly for applying the color on both the bottom and top lips.

The color is rich. It’s a typical matte lipstick but it’s not too drying on the lips. The NYX Super Cliquey Matte is easy to apply, comfortable to wear and long lasting…as long as you don’t eat alot. Depending on what you’re eating the color will transfer and re-application may be needed afterwards. Overall, I would give it a thumb’s up for an inexpensive alternative for a matte lip color.

Next, I tried the NYX Slip Tease Lip Oils. These have full body color. The applicator tip is not as unique as the Super Cliquey Matte Lipsticks but the color goes on smooth and it dries to a half matte, half satin finish. I’m guessing it’s due the “oil” in the lip color but I’m not so sure what kind of oil it is. Like the Super Cliquey Matte Lipsticks, these colors are easy to wear and apply. I give it another thumbs up for NYX Cosmetics.

Until next time Fabs…keep glowing!

Meet Beauty Contributor Mona Nisa:

Hey Fabs! It’s your girl Mona Nisa. I’m totally obsessed with all things make-up and skincare. From a little girl, I’ve always struggled with my skin. If you can name it, I’ve probably had an experience with it. As I continue to get my grown woman on, my skin concerns seem to constantly change and evolve. I’m always on the hunt for best skin care and the newest make-up. I live in Target and Sephora is my favorite store (and mobile app). They get me in so much trouble. In this segment of Flawless Fabs, I will take you along on my journey for skin perfection. I’ll aslo try and review some of the latest and greatest make-up products. If there’s a product you would like me to try, let me know.
